What a fabulous first BnB meeting for 2017! We decided to share recipes and have a Breakfast for Dinner meeting. Savoury crepes, breakfast casseroles, oven baked French toast, sweet potato apple fritters and potato latkes, and Quiche Lorraine were just some of the tasty food we enjoyed. We finished off the meeting with butter tarts and a wonderful fruit platter to make sure we had a ‘balanced’ meal! So now the members who couldn’t make this meeting will probably be looking for their ‘Brinner’ at the next meeting. They certainly missed a wonderful meal as we shared some of our great recipes. And then we had our usual productive meeting sharing knowledge and friendship. Kudos to Eva for suggesting this new format!
Hopefully you can make it to one our BnBs and enjoy some of this great food as well. We even had a gluten free dish at our dinner. So come on out and check out what we and the Clarington area have to offer!
Hello to all our regular Canadian Tire Motorsport Park fans. And to all other visitors too!
Well, we have been getting ready for the 2017 season by attending our local tourism Symposium. Not all members could make the meeting but we will be sharing our new knowledge at our next B &B meeting.
We are looking forward to making your visits the best ever, so come on out and visit at your favourite B & B. We are booking up quickly this year, so get your reservations in as soon as you can. But one of the benefits of our B&B group is we share knowledge and over bookings. So you can be sure we will know who can meet your needs and have a good idea of who has availability on the really busy weekends. Hope to see you soon,
The members of Clarington BnBs group
Well, we have updated the website with some new changes. If you see anything else that needs updating, please let us know.
Wow – where does the time go? We are more than half way through the season and time has just flown by. Despite Boots and Hearts moving to north of Barrie, the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park events are still keeping us all very busy! We are ten different B&B’s in our group and there have been times when we were all fully booked. It is shaping up to be a great season.
But if you are looking for accommodation, book early as it is getting difficult to find accommodations, particularly close to the track!
And here is a picture of another way to relax in the country when the races are over – just settle by the fire and wind down from a busy day.
Have a great race season!
Are you a nature lover? You would not believe the number of great conservation areas, parks, marshes and such that we have in Durham Region. Check out the wonderful pictures here of the Second Marsh. If you want peace and serenity Joe-Lin Station can tell you all about where to get it. Just call Linda at 1-905-263-8028 and she will figure out what you would like and find it for you!
Clarington Bnbs are please to announce that Woodland Gardens Bed & Breakfast has joined our group. We now have ten members who would love to serve your needs for a mini or full vacation in Durham Region. Please contact Lea Somers at her at Woodland Gardens (see Members’ details) if you would like to stay at this B & B.
ClaringtonBnB’s group would like to welcome Kendal Hills as our newest bed and breakfast to join our group. We look forward to sharing our tips and knowledge with Frances and Tim. Glad to have you on board!
Our last guest for 2013 arrived on December 30th. She was travelling on a very cold and snowy day from Toronto to Montreal. In our journal we keep in her room she wrote to thank us for our “winter wonderland welcome”. Happy 2014!
